How Legible works
Read your website, correct your business record, and check the evidence.
The four parts of Legible
- Diagnosis
- Understand what your pages say and where the gaps are.
- The Record
- Review and correct the facts about your business.
- Roll Call
- Compare recorded AI answers when visibility readings are available.
- Drift Watch
- Track changes between audits when monitoring is enabled.
Start with a website audit
Enter your website address on the Sites page. Legible reads public pages and checks their content, metadata and structured data. Each report reflects the last completed audit.
Work through your record
Your review covers six areas. Some share a page; available actions depend on the answers you have confirmed.
The read
Review facts found on your pages, then confirm or correct the business description Legible drafts.
People
Review the people associated with your business and their official profiles.
Your record
Review the business details you have saved. Saved answers and facts found on your live pages are separate.
Three truths
Review the category, human and brand truths drafted from your confirmed answers.
Publish
Prepare the supported parts of your record. This step alone does not verify a change on your live website.
Results
Compare your published pages with another business. This comparison does not measure search rankings or AI recommendations.
What the field count means
“Present” means a checked field was found in your website’s markup. “Missing” or “Not in markup” means it was not found there; the information may still appear in page text or may not apply to your business.
The ring counts checked fields. It is not a search ranking or an AI visibility score.
Saved, published and verified are different
How you apply a change depends on your website platform and its connection. Follow the available publishing or manual instructions, then check the live page. Only live-page evidence confirms a change on your public website.
Reports and search performance
Open Reports for your latest audit. Run a new audit after changing your website.
Where Google Search Console is configured, connect your verified property from your site workspace to view search performance. This connection reads data; it cannot change your account or request indexing.
When will search engines and AI show a change?
To request a Google refresh, open Search Console, inspect the page URL, and choose Request indexing.
Find a term or get help
The wiki explains product terms, including platform-specific publishing tools. Available actions depend on your website and connection.
